Madrid cannot afford errors against Paris Saint-Germain, warns Isco

The 23-year-old is predicting a tightly-fought encounter against the French champions, but believes his side could eke out a victory on Wednesday

Isco has warned Real Madrid that upcoming Champions League opponents Paris Saint-Germain will punish them for the slightest error.

The La Liga leaders travel to Parc des Princes on Wednesday to face their Ligue 1 counterparts, with Laurent Blanc’s side likewise winning both their opening group fixtures so far.

And Isco has predicted a cagey encounter between two complete teams, though he feels los Blancos have enough to edge the tie.

“PSG are a very good, strong and complete side,” the midfielder told BWIN

“They have some great players – ones who can decide a game on their own – they’re quick and strong.

“So I’m expecting two very tough games and both of them will be decided by small details – whoever makes the slightest error will get punished.

“Having said that though, they’ll be up against a Real Madrid side who have good qualities too and who can pack a punch in attack.

“I don’t think there will be a lot of goals, but I hope that if there are any goals, they’re all for us.”

The 23-year-old has already recorded two assists in Madrid’s winning start to the Champions League campaign, and will be hoping to open his account this season by netting against Blanc’s domestic treble winners.

Madrid will also be able to turn to their new all-time top goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo to find the breakthrough in Paris, with the Portuguese displacing Raul at the top of the charts in Saturday’s 3-0 win against Levante.

But Isco still paid tribute to the Spanish icon, who had announced he will hang up his boots in November, saying: “Raul is a legend.

“Not only for Madrid, but for world football – for the career he has had, the courage he showed, the sacrifices he made and how he defended the Real Madrid shirt. He has enjoyed a career full of success.”
