La Liga finished for another season at the weekend, with Atletico Madrid crowned champions following a brave draw at Camp Nou.

The Rojiblancos claimed their first Primera Division title since 1996, while Osasuna and Valladolid were relegated along with Betis and Villarreal claimed the last European spot with victory at Real Sociedad.

Andres Fernandez produced several superb saves to give Osasuna hope in Pamplona, but was unable to prevent relegation as the northerners beat Betis 2-1.

Diego Godin was the hero for Atletico as he headed the equaliser to give Diego Simeone’s side the title. Sergio Ramos shone for Madrid, meanwhile, as Carlo Ancelotti’s beat Espanyol 3-1, and Lisandro Lopez impressed for Getafe in their 2-1 win at Rayo Vallecano.

Angel Di Maria starred in midfield for Madrid, while Francisco Portillo gave Malaga a 1-0 win over Levante, Vicente Iborra impressed for Sevilla in their success at home to Elche and Sofiane Feghouli helped inspire a comeback victory (2-1) for Valencia.

In attack, Ciprian Marica scored twice to secure survival for Getafe, Giovani dos Santos opened the scoring for Villarreal as the Yellow Submarine sealed a place in Europe with a 2-1 success at Real Sociedad and Oriol Riera gave Osasuna hope of staying up with the first goal in Pamplona.
