'He showed Blatter who is the real boss' – Goal's World Player of the Week Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese helped himself to five goals in a week to complete his best-ever start to a season

Real Madrid
7-3 Paris Saint-Germain
Rayo Vallecano
2-3 Real Madrid

There’s never a dull moment with Cristiano Ronaldo. Last week Sepp Blatter revealed he preferred Lionel Messi to the Portuguese, which provoked an angry response from the 28-year-old and his club.

Typically, Ronaldo responded in the right fashion on the pitch. He fired a hat-trick in Madrid’s 7-3 mauling of Sevilla and then struck twice on Saturday as los Blancos overcame Rayo Vallecano 3-2.

That’s now 20 goals in 15 games this season for the 28-year-old and Goal’s Miguel Churruca gave his thoughts on a fabulous seven days for ‘CR7’.

“Ronaldo proved to be a real commander on the pitch this week. After Sepp Blatter’s comments, the Portuguese showed the world just how good he is with a hat-trick in a crazy game against Sevilla.

“Not happy with the three goals, La Liga’s top scorer then made it five goals in four days with two strikes against Vallecano to fire his side to another win. He has shown Blatter who is the real boss…on the pitch at least!”

Congratulations to Cristiano Ronaldo, Goal’s 234th World Player of the Week winner!
