Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos mocks Di Maria gesture with Michael Jackson Tweet

The Spaniard has made fun of the Argentine by posting a picture of himself posing in front of a picture of music legend Michael Jackson

Sergio Ramos has seemingly shown support for Angel di Maria by moking light of his Real Madrid team-mate’s allegedly offensive crotch-grabbing gesture.

The Argentine, who has struggled for game time this season following the arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham, was slated by the Spanish media over the incident, which occurred when the apparently upset 25-year-old was leaving the field during Monday night’s 3-0 victory over Celta Vigo to be replaced by the Welshman.

However, Di Maria has denied there was anything offensive about the way in which he grabbed his groin while being whistled by the home fans, and Ramos clearly sees the funny side, having Tweeted a picture of himself in front of music icon Michael Jackson, who was famous for such gestures.

“There was nothing towards anyone,” Di Maria told FOX Sports Radio. “I was adjusting myself and I kept running.

“If I was angry I would not have shook hands with anyone. I left the pitch totally naturally. People are always waiting for me to do something.

“I have never had problems with the fans. I felt that half were applauding and half were whistling. I always need to clear up what I do. With everyone else there is no problem, but with me all hell is raised up.

“My family were in the stadium – I am not going to make that gesture with them there.”
