Goal takes a look at the standout performers as the Primera Division gets back underway following its winter break
There’s little change at the top, with Barcelona, Atletico and Real Madrid all winning as Spain’s Primera Division got back underway following its winter break.
The Catalans and los Rojiblancos remain neck and neck at the summit ahead of of their meeting at the Vicente Calderon next weekend, while Carlo Ancelotti’s men sit five points further back.
Elsewhere, Real Sociedad claimed the bragging rights in the Basque derby, while there were are also wins for Osasuna, Villarreal, Sevilla, Almeria and Valencia.

In goal is Esteban, a fundamental figure in Almeria’s 3-0 win over Granada with several important saves in the all-Andalusian clash.
At the back, Federico Fazio impressed for Sevilla in their 3-0 victory at home to Getafe and also bagged an assist, while Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio continued his fine form in the Yellow Submarine‘s 5-2 success at Rayo Vallecano and Madrid’s Dani Carvajal defended well and set up a goal for Cristiano Ronaldo in Real’s 3-0 win at home to Celta Vigo.
Another Madrid man, Luka Modric, is included following a fine showing in midfield for los Blancos, while Ruben Pardo was instrumental for Real Sociedad in their derby win over Athletic. Winger Vitolo set Sevilla on their way with the first goal in their 3-0 win, while Moises Gomez also shone for Villarreal in their 5-2 success.
And two out of the front three are also Villarreal forwards: Ikechukwu Uche and Jeremy Perbet. The Nigerian netted a hat-trick for Marcelino’s men, with the other two were scored by the Frenchman. Barca’s Alexis Sanchez completes the line-up following his first hat-trick in Catalan colours in the 4-0 win over Elche on Sunday.
