Callejon rubbishes exit rumours

The forward insists he intends to see out his current contract at Santiago Bernabeu despite being restricted to a bit-part role last season

Jose Callejon has rubbished speculation linking him with a move away from Real Madrid this summer.

The Spanish forward has been touted as a possible makeweight in potential offers for Luis Suarez and Isco, but he insists his intention is to see out his current contract at Santiago Bernabeu despite being restricted to a substitute role for much of last season.

“I never said I want to go. I want to stay and win titles with Real Madrid. I have a contract until 2015, that says it all,” the 26-year-old was quoted as saying by EFE.

The former Espanyol man admitted, however, that this season had not gone to plan and regretted missing the opportunity to lift a title.

“It has been sad not to obtain trophy this season, a pity, but football is like that,” he added.

Callejon scored six goals in 40 appearances last season, including a strike on the final day of the campaign against Osasuna.
