Toni Kroos Linked With Return to Bayern Munich After Being ‘Pissed Off’ By Champions League Snub

Toni Kroos could make an unexpected return to former club Bayern Munich in the summer, in what would be one of the most dramatic comebacks since the reformation of Take That in 2005 – which, incidentally, allowed Robbie s to continue the solo career that Kroos so loves.

The 30-year-old’s time at the Allianz Arena came to an end in 2014, when he completed a move to Real Madrid. Prior to his departure, the German made over 200 appearances for Die Roten, securing three Bundesliga titles and a Champions League winners medal.

According to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda (via ?Diario Madridista), Bayern have initiated contact with the midfielder over a potential move, after Kroos was left angered by his exclusion from the Real side that took on ?Manchester City in the ?Champions League last week.

“There are two players facing Zidane right now and one of them is very pissed off because he did not play against City and against Betis he was substituted. It’s Toni Kroos,” Inda said on Spanish television.

“Contacts with Bayern have intensified in recent weeks and I do not rule out Kroos’ departure.”

The report goes on to mention that despite Kroos’ unhappiness at being left out against City, the playmaker remains content at the club – but has not ruled out a move to the Bundesliga champions entirely.

There is also a claim that ?Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are interested, but the only evidence provided is that both clubs ‘love him’, along with pretty much anyone else who watches football. Probably best to treat it with a fair slice of caution then…

Kroos is likely to be recalled to the starting lineup for the upcoming second leg against the Cityzens on Tuesday 17 March, with Real looking to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

Prior to that, Zidane’s side host Eibar in La Liga, having been overtaken at the top of the table by Barcelona last weekend.
