Twitter Reacts as Real Sociedad Prank Fans With Martin Odegaard to Man City Announcement

Well, that came out of nowhere, didn’t it?

?Despite Manchester City’s dramatic defeat to Wolves on Friday evening, Pep Guardiola once again revealed that the club will not be pursuing anyone in the upcoming January transfer window.

However, roughly 12 hours later, Real Sociedad ‘confirmed’ that attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard would be joining the Manchester-based side on loan. Shock.

The 21-year-old prodigy is on loan at Sociedad from parent club ?Real Madrid, where he is continuing to impress this season.

The statement declared: “Real Sociedad have reached an agreement with ?Manchester City over the loan of Martin Odegaard. The player is set to stay at City until the end of the season.”

“The club wants to thank and offer recognition for the job done by Martin. He has shown great professionalism, dedication and loyalty to this club and we wish him well for the future. We are forced to take this difficult decision in order to avoid possible media comments for the next six months. What a relief!”

At first glance, it appeared as though City fans had something to celebrate. Fans and football lovers from across the globe quickly took to social media to express their disbelief…
