?Real Madrid head to the Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico Madrid in the city derby on Saturday evening.
The sides are level on points with Real just sneaking ahead of Atletico courtesy of a superior goal difference. Neither side has enjoyed their best start to a domestic season, but bragging rights from a derby win could be just the catalyst for either side to propel them into a winning run.
Here’s how Zinedine Zidane could line his side up for their trip to Atletico this weekend.
Costa Rica international ?Keylor Navas is still out with a hamstring injury and looks set to miss the game on Saturday, so Casilla will retain his spot between the sticks.
?It looks to be the same back line who kept a clean sheet in their win over Las Palmas.
Carvajal’s recovery from pericarditis means he is still a doubt for the Madrid derby, despite upping his recovery and Nacho will likely continue at right back. However Achaf Hakimi is in contention for the position.
Sergio Ramos and Marcelo are certain starters and Vallejo, who has struggled with injury since his arrival from Germany, could be in line to make his second consecutive start to the season.
Isco is set to start despite being pulled off for Spain against Costa Rica after picking up a knock. He’s been influential for the Los Blancos in the last calendar year and has netted four times and providing assists on three occasions in 2017/18.
Modric could replace Toni Kroos to add flair to the side, but holding midfielder Casemiro will be called upon again with the Brazilian being a key player to Zidane.
Marco Asensio has also been a key contributor to this side with the same amount of goals for Madrid but just one less assist. He looks set to continue with Gareth Bale still out.
Suprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t had the best of starts to the season as he would have envisaged prior to the campaign kicking off. He has only netted once this season however the Portuguese is known for turning up in the big games.
He will be joined alongside Frenchman Karim Benzema, who is also suffering something of a drought, and has fired in just one goal this term.?
