The Portuguese television station Correio da Manha has demanded an apology from Cristiano Ronaldo after he threw a reporter’s microphone into a lake.
Prior to Portugal’s 3-3 draw with Hungary on Wednesday, Ronaldo was out walking with team-mates when he was interrupted by a reporter working for CMTV.
The reporter asked whether he was ready for the game but Ronaldo responded by snatching the microphone out of his hands and throwing it into a lake.

“We are as deserving least a formal apology by Ronaldo and the Federation,” Carlos Rodrigues, director of information for CMTV, told EFE.
“As captain, Ronaldo has an institutional role.”
Ronaldo scored twice in the draw to secure Portugal’s place in the last 16 where they will face Croatia on Saturday evening.
