The Wales international has aimed a dig at his side’s rivals ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final in Milan, insisting Los Blancos have a far superior squad
Gareth Bale claims that no Atletico Madrid player would make it into Real Madrid’s starting XI.
The two Madrid clubs are set to meet in Saturday’s Champions League final in Milan, with Bale aiming to win his second European trophy since joining Los Blancos in 2013.
Atletico finished just two points behind Madrid in La Liga this season, while their goalkeeper Jan Oblak equalled the record for the most clean sheets in a single season in the Spanish top flight.

Antoine Griezmann was another star of Atletico’s season with 32 goals in all competitions but Bale insists no player from Diego Simeone’s side would warrant a starting place at Madrid.
“To me, no Atletico player would feature in Real Madrid’s team,” Bale told Cadena COPE’s ‘El Partido de las 12’.
Bale scored against Atletico when they met in the Champions League final in 2014 and has netted 19 times in 30 games in all competitions this term – failing to get off the mark in the European competition this year.
