Big night for Benzema but it all went WRONG for Ronaldo

The two Real Madrid strikers experienced different emotions on Thursday night, with a brace for Benzema and another goalless cap for Ronaldo against Denmark

Portugal may have secured top spot in Group I and a spot in next year’s Euros but it was another fairly anonymous night for Cristiano Ronaldo in his national team colours as he failed to test opposition goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with any considerable attempts on goal.

Ronaldo is now goalless in his last three matches representing his country but in France, there’s better news for his club-mate at Real Madrid, Karim Benzema.

The French striker netted twice in a minute and provided an assist in Nice as the Euro 2016 hosts eased to a comfortable 4-0 victory over European minnows Armenia.
