The Real Madrid coach has confirmed Kiko Casilla could make his first start for the club on Saturday with his first-choice goalkeeper struggling with a muscle injury
Keylor Navas could miss Real Madrid ‘s match against Las Palmas on Saturday due to a muscle problem, Rafael Benitez has confirmed.
Navas has been in impressive form at Santiago Bernabeu this season despite nearly leaving the club on transfer deadline day in their failed move for David de Gea.
His 100 per cent appearance record so far could end this weekend, however, as Benitez considers handing Kiko Casilla his first start since joining from Espanyol.
“It’s true Keylor Navas is playing well, but if he has a muscle strain and we have to keep him under wraps then that’s not a problem,” Benitez told Spanish radio station RNE . “Maybe Casilla will play against Palmas.
“I have total confidence in Kiko Casilla and when he has to play I’ll use him.
“If he has to play against Las Palmas, then so be it and that’s that. If he has to play against Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla, then play he will.”
