Arsenal target Morata open to Real Madrid exit

The highly-rated 21-year-old has featured just four times for Los Blancos this season and concedes that he might be forced to leave in order to secure regular game time

Alvaro Morata has admitted that he will consider quitting Real Madrid if it becomes clear that he will not be allowed to play a “relevant role” at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 21-year-old is widely regarded is one of the most talented young forwards in Spain but although he has made 10 Liga appearances for Los Blancos this season, he has not been afforded a single start by coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Consequently, speculation is rife that Arsenal, who have a shortage of striking options, are ready to make a move for Morata, and the forward admits that despite his love for Madrid, he is open to a move away.

“Real Madrid have been my team since I was little and will be all my life, but I think the important thing is to have a relevant role in the team,” the Spain Under-21 international told Minuto 116.

“If I ever feel that’s not the case, I would look at other options. In football, it’s very difficult to stay at the top and even more so in a team like Real.”

Despite his limited game time this term, Morata has still managed two Liga goals for Madrid.
