The Spain international and his partner Sara Carbonero have revealed they are set to become parents, with the reporter believed to be 13 weeks pregnant
Spain and Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas is set to become a father for the first time, he has confirmed.
The 32-year-old and his partner Sara Carbonero, who is a journalist for Tele 5, revealed the news on Saturday on their way back from the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
Casillas, who fell out of favour at Madrid last season, played in the final, in which Spain lost 3-0 to the hosts. Miss Carbonero, meanwhile, was out in Brazil on media duties covering the tournament.
“We are very happy,” Casillas told reporters at Barajas Airport, Madrid.
The couple met back in February 2010 and it is reported that Casillas’ girlfriend is 13 weeks pregnant.
The pair will now go on holiday to an unknown destination.
