Jose Mourinho has taken the Turkish international midfielder Nuri Sahin with his Real Madrid team mates to America for part of the pre-season preparations. Mourinho does not want the young player to think that there is no place for him at Madrid, even though he has been told to accept a loan deal this season. Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are the teams most likely to have the services of Sahin this season but no final decision has been made yet.
Sahin played the whole of the second half yesterday as Real took on David Beckham and LA Galaxy. Madrid enjoyed the game and were 3-1 up at half time, through Higuain, Di Maria and Callejon. Mourinho started each half with a completely different eleven, and Madrid added to goals in the second half through Morata and Jese.
Sahin knows that, after just four league appearances last season, he needs to get alot of match play in order to force his way in to the Real Madrid midfield which is overflowing with talent. Mourinho has encouraged him to9 play in England as it has very competitive and quality football.
Tottenham are keen on Sahin but do not want to include him as part of a deal for Luka Modric, plus they are not in the Champion’s league. Manchester United are apparently only interested in a permanent transfer, which neither Madrid or Sahin want, so Arsenal seem to be in pole position.
Reports suggest that an agreement is almost complete with Arsene Wenger’s club, with just minor financial details to be completed. The deal may include a possible release clause with Arsenal getting first refusal if Sahin was to be sold by Madrid. Wenger has a good reputation for bringing on good young players, so this could be a great move by Mourinho and Real Madrid.
