Real Madrid ‘Make Contact’ With Agent of Manchester City Star After Scintillating Patch of Form

?Real Madrid have made contact with the agent of Kevin De Bruyne with a view to potentially signing the player, according to the Daily Mirror.

De Bruyne has been the Premier League’s player of the season so far after a string of stunning displays for Manchester City, who went 11 points clear at the top after Sunday’s derby win over Manchester United.

?Los Blancos have reported made contact with De Bruyne’s agent, Patrick De Koster, asking about his availability and made it clear they are interested in bringing him to the Bernabeu, but no formal approach for the 26-year-old has made.

De Bruyne is Manchester City’s club record signing following his £54m move from Wolfsburg in 2015, and spent two unsuccessful years at Chelsea between 2012 and 2014 before Jose Mourinho sold him to the German side after deciding he wasn’t good enough for a future at Stamford Bridge.

4 Reasons Why Real Madrid Should Be Confident About Beating PSG in the Champions League Last 16

Real Madrid will play Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16 of the Champions League after the turn of the year, the side dubbed as the one to avoid in the competition.

The clash will see Neymar revisit old La Liga rivalries with Los Blancos, including the 2017 Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, as the two meet initially at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium before the return leg at the Parc des Princes.

However, despite Les Parisiens being seen as one of, if not the strongest force in this year’s competition, the Spanish capital side may not be too concerned about facing their fellow world-renowned counterparts, and here are four reasons why.

1. Real Madrid Hold the Advantage in History

In the competition’s current format, Real have never been beaten by PSG, with the two coming together in the 2015/16 season during the group stages.

On both occasions, Los Blancos were able to record successive shut outs against their French counterparts, recording a 1-0 victory in Spain while securing a goalless draw in Paris.

Although Les Parisiens are a more evolved beast today compared to that of two years ago, Madrid will certainly hold the psychological edge over their opposition – with several players still within Zinedine Zidane’s ranks evident during both nights.

2. PSG Have Shown Vulnerability

For long periods of this campaign it was difficult to see where Paris’ weaknesses lay, however recently have shown they are prone to the odd slip up.

This was no more evident than in their last Champions League outing with Bayern Munich, where the Bundesliga outfit, who were on the receiving end of a 3-0 steamrolling earlier in the term, dominated the 90 minutes and ran out deserved 3-1 victors.

The Bavarians’ victory also came just days after PSG came unstuck at mid-table Strasbourg, marking the first time Unai Emery’s side had suffered back-to-back defeats since 2014.

The fact that both an underperforming Bayern and a side from the lower echelons of French football have been able to overcome the big-money spenders will give Real confidence that they could also do the same to Paris.

3. No Last-16 ‘Curse’ for Seven Years

From the years 2004 to 2010 it was this very day Madrid fans feared most – the draw for the Champions League last-16.

For six seasons in a row Los Blancos were dumped out of the competition in the first knockout round following the group stages, with Juventus, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Roma, Liverpool and Olympique Lyonnais all getting the better of the Spanish giants.

However, since that point Real have not tasted defeat at this stage of the Champions League, unlike PSG who exited the competition during the round of 16 last year.

4. Real Remain Strong Against the French

Since the already alluded to last-16 exit against Lyon during the 2009/10 campaign, Real have come up against French sides on 12 occasions since in the competition, and claimed victory 11 times.

Although the only blotch on that record is their goalless stalemate with PSG in 2015, they still seem to have the perfect game plan for facing their Ligue 1 counterparts.

5. Can PSG Handle Pressure? History Suggests Not

Over the past two seasons, Paris have been placed in two high-profile precarious situations, where the odds were so much in their favour that it seemed impossible to see anything other than a win for the French side.

One of which being this year’s group stage, where despite Emery’s side coming out top of the pile, they showed complacency in their final fixture against Bayern.

Had the Bavarians tucked away just two more of their hatful of chances on that night at the Allianz Arena, PSG for the second season in a row would have surrendered the most unlikely of advantages.

Of course the second was 12 months previously, where Barcelona somehow performed the comeback of all comebacks, to book their place in the quarter-finals after overturning a 4-0 deficit from the first leg – claiming a 6-1 victory in the Camp Nou.

Ironically Neymar played a key role in that Barca comeback, however in recent times PSG have struggled to handle intense pressure when it’s needed most, and that is something that could well work in the favour of Real.

Star Arsenal Full-Back Hector Bellerin Emerges as Top Target for Both Juventus & Real Madrid

?Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin has been a wanted man for some time now, with Barcelona having looked to return him to the Camp Nou during the summer.

Their rivals Real Madrid have since taken an interest in signing the Spanish defender, but according to reports stemming from Italy, they now have competition in the form of Serie A champions and Champions League finalists Juventus.

Spanish outlet Don Balon recently reported that Real president Florentino Perez has his heart set on landing the 22-year-old speedster. And ?Tuttosport are now claiming that the Italian giants have joined the race as they aim to upgrade their full-back positions.

The player has somewhat struggled this season. However, he is a favourite of Arsene Wenger, and the French coach has no intentions of letting him depart from the Emirates.

Juve are well aware that it would take a significant sum to pry Bellerin away from London, as the right-back signed a six-and-a-half year deal a little over a year ago.

The Old Lady, though, are reportedly keen to bring in both Bellerin and Valencia’s Jose Gaya, with a view to install them on the right and left flanks, respectively.

The relationship between Alex Sandro and the club is believed to have become strained, and the Brazilian is expected to leave Turin in January or at the end of the season.

Juve are eyeing the aforementioned pair as targets, but have already identified alternatives should moves fail to materialise, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier and Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko reported as being options as well.

Real Madrid Step Up Interest in Spurs Stopper Lloris as Florentino Perez Loses Patience With Navas

?Spanish supremos Real Madrid are reported as having ramped up their interest in Tottenham Hotspur and France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The ?Mirror are reporting that Florentino Perez wants to bring in a new stopper for Zinedine Zidane, with Keylor Navas getting off to a less than impressive start this term.

Tottenham Hotspur v Stoke City - Premier League

The La Liga champions have listed Manchester united’s David de Gea and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois as replacements, but are also looking at the Frenchman as they plan to cast a wide net.

Lloris is said to be worth £25m, a fee Real would have no qualms parting with. And, according to the report, they will move for the 30-year-old if Tottenham fail to win silverware this season.

The player, who turns 31 next month, hasn’t won a single trophy since joining the North London side, and his only final appearance came in the League Cup, a match lost to rivals Chelsea.

Perez believes that Zidane’s status could be used to convince the player to move to Spain. But the manager only last week claimed that he was happy with the keepers currently at his disposal.

“I have two goalkeepers, understand?” he said to reporters, via the Metro. “I am a Real Madrid coach and I am happy with my two goalkeepers, I will always say the same. I saw Keylor well, although we can always give a little bit more, like always.”

Spurs, meanwhile, have very little hope of winning the Premier League title this season, having come close in recent times. As things stand, they trail leaders Manchester City by 18 points and are in danger of finishing out of the top four this season.

They’re in great form in European competition, however, and may fancy their chances of having a right go at the Champions League.

Real Madrid President Reportedly Reaches Agreement With Neymar Over Bernabeu Move

?Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain ace Neymar over a move to the Spanish club after the end of the 2018/19 season.

That is according to Spanish news outlet ?Diario Gol, who also claim that the Brazilian had already told the French side that he would leave if he doesn’t win the Champions League or Ballon d’Or in two years.

Bayern Muenchen v Paris Saint-Germain - UEFA Champions League

The report goes on to state that, due to poor relations with Unai Emery, Neymar has already decided that he will spend the rest of this season in France, as well as all of next season, before returning to Spain to join Madrid, no matter what happens.

Perez, meanwhile, has been pretty vocal in his admiration for the attacker, who he says would have a better chance to win the Ballon d’Or at Madrid.

“Neymar is a player who, if he were in Real Madrid, would have more facilities to win the Golden Ball,” he is quoted as saying.

“Madrid is a club that gives a big player everything they need to do so. Everyone knows I wanted to sign him.”

The Champions League holders have been after Neymar since his Santos days and made him a huge offer before he joined Barcelona. But the lure of playing alongside Lionel Messi was too great for the player, and it was the one thing Real simply could not bring to the table during negotiations.

Gol also claim that the player’s father has been in talks with Madrid ever since he left the Camp Nou in the summer, however. And if they are to be believed, then a deal has possibly been reached.
