Ronaldo: I want to work with Benitez

The Portugal star says Real Madrid’s new boss boasts an impressive level of experience and claims he has no news on Sergio Ramos’ intentions

Cristiano Ronaldo says he is eager to work with new Real Madrid head coach Rafael Benitez – though he did add “we’ll see what happens”.

Benitez was appointed as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor at the Santiago Bernabeu and Ronaldo offered his support to his outgoing boss following his sacking at the end of the season.

However, despite rumours of a possible bid from Paris Saint-Germain refusing to go away, the Portugal skipper says he is keen to work with the experienced Benitez in the coming campaign.

“I’ve never worked with him, but he’s a coach with a lot of experience. We’ll see what happens, but I want to work with him,” he told SNTV.

“We’ll see if we can win important titles. I’m eager to get working with him.”

Ronaldo had little to add on talk of friend and team-mate Sergio Ramos’ potential transfer to Manchester United this summer.

When asked whether the defender were close to an exit from the Spanish capital, he replied simply: “I don’t know”.
