The January arrival from Cruzeiro was overjoyed after featuring for 19 minutes at the end of Saturday’s 2-0 Liga win over Deportivo La Coruna
Lucas Silva has described his Real Madrid debut as a dream come true, admitting that his first pass in the club’s famous white shirt was “magical”.
The midfielder joined the reigning European champions from Cruzeiro for a reported €14 million fee during the January transfer window and was handed his first outing in Saturday’s 2-0 Liga win over Deportivo.
Lucas only featured for 19 minutes after coming on as a replacement for Asier Illaramendi, but instantly felt at home in his new surroundings.
“I’m very happy, very pleased,” the 22-year-old told Real Madrid TV . “I realised a dream. It was magical.
“I’m going to remember it fondly. The first pass, being out on the pitch with the players … It was great to hear the applause from the fans.”
The former Brazil Under-21 star will now hope to feature in Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 first-leg clash with Schalke and Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti boosted his hopes of doing just that.
The Italian added: “He came on against Deportivo because his condition has improved and he’s ready to start.”
