Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos took a break from training to catch up with pop sensation One Direction, who seemed to be missing a couple of members.
The Spain international channelled his inner 14-year-old girl to grab a photo with the Anglo-Irish boy band, with camera-shy Harry Styles and Zayn Malik presumably volunteering to capture the snap.
“Today I met @OneDirection guys. A great picture with them,” Ramos wrote on Twitter as he revealed the photo. “Greetings!!
Simon Cowell’s minions are about to set off an international stadium tour and will be performing at Wembley in the summer.
That is more than you can say for Ramos, whose Real Madrid side were unceremoniously dumped out of the Champions League by Borussia Dortmund, who will face Bayern Munich in Saturday’s final instead of the Spanish giants.
That result prompted coach Jose Mourinho to echo One Direction’s words in urging Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to ‘Take me Home’, with the Portuguese boss expected to return to Stamford Bridge imminently.
