The home side make a host of chances to their starting XI for their Liga match this evening, having rested many of their first-team during their Copa del Rey win over Alcoyano on October 30.
Alvaro Arbeloa is named in Jose Mourinho’s line-up having recovered from a muscle injury, while eight other players not involved against Alcoyano during the week return for the reigning Liga champions.
Iker Casillas comes in for Antonio Adan in goal and Sergio Ramos and Pepe are named in defence having been rested for the Copa del Rey match. In midfield Luka Modric partners Michael Essien with Xabi Alonso suspended, while Mourinho names a completely different front four from his last line-up as Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil and Gonzalo Higuain start tonight’s match.
Zaragoza make changes of their own following their Copa del Rey win over Granada, with Roberto recalled in goal at the expense of Leo Franco and Alvaro and Glenn Loovens returning at centre-back.
In midfield Apono, Paco Montanes and Jose Mari start, with Helder Postiga named as Zaragoza’s lone striker as they set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
